Walking the Jakobsweg from Einsiedeln to Brunnen takes you from the quiet spirituality of Einsiedeln Abbey through alpine meadows and forests up to the Haggenegg pass, with views of the Grosser Mythen and Kleiner Mythen. The trail then descends toward Lake Lucerne, ending in Brunnen.

Starting at the harbor of Rapperswil, the route crosses the Pilgrim’s Bridge to Pfäffikon SZ before climbing steeply through the historic “Hollow Alleys” toward Luegeten. The ascent leads to the highest point at the chapel of St. Meinrad Chapel, after which the trail descends past the Galgenchappeli and follows the Old Etzel Road into Einsiedeln.

Beautiful hike above the Walensee. It is about 4 hour / 1000m climbing from Amden up to Mattstogg with a beautiful view on top. The last part is a little sketchy if you are afraid of heights. You can skip the first part and take the chairlift on the way up to safe about one hour or to spare your knees on the way down.

New Year and January feelings in El Gouna were definitely new! Colder temperatures and for once really bad wind. At least lots of sunshine which was good for running.
