Wing Foiling in El Gouna
September 2025One month with good wind!
We spent the entire month of September in El Gouna, finally taking the time to get properly into Wing Foiling. For a stay this long, an Airbnb once again proved to be the best choice – far more practical and affordable than hotels.
The wind conditions were excellent throughout the month, with only two days that were too light to get on the water. It’s worth noting that Wing Foiling usually starts to work well from around 12 knots, so kitesurfers might describe the wind a little differently.
Is El Gouna a perfect Wing Foil spot?
Not quite – you’ll need to walk a fair distance to reach deeper water, depending on the tide. Using a shorter mast makes the entry easier, while an 85 cm mast can be tricky at low tide.
That said, the upper part of the lagoon is always deep enough, so no problem there. When it comes to access, Kitepower definitely has an advantage over Makani for getting to deeper water more quickly.
