50 percent wind – mostly for 10m kites

Same same, just a little different from the previous years. Just over 50% good wind, mostly for 10m kites. On the light wind days, the wind was usually okay in the morning (until 10am) and picked up from 15 to 20 knots just before 6pm – so it’s worth to wait on those lighter days.

We stayed in a nice private apartment in the Upper Nubia complex.

Makani Beach Club is still the place to be, it just get’s really crowded on some days, especially on the weekends. We might consider Kitepower next time, it’s a bit more chilled and also less crowded on the water.

Renting a TukTuk

…turned out to be a really good option for transportation: No waiting, doesn’t heat up like a car – and you can rent it for only 10 EUR per day. Be aware that it might break down a few times, so it’s a good idea to have cell phone service available.

George (WhatsApp ‭+20 122 4771796‬), the kite repair guy from Kitepower, has a few in rental.

New discovery

Our new No 1 restaurant is Luma, offering a variety of excellent main courses and amazing desserts. The date cake is highly recommended!
